A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
CALLI11iG FOR A PROPOSAL TO PLACE A VOTE ON THE 2009 TAX RATE ON A
FUTURE CITY COUIVCIL AGEIVDA AS AN ACTION ITEM; SETTI111G TIME A1VD
PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED TAX RATE; MAKING
OTHER FIIVDIIVGS A11iD PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.05(d) of the Property Tax Code of the
State of Texas, the City will hold two public hearings on the proposed tax rate, the first
public hearing to be held at 5:30 p.m. on August 24, 2009 and the second at 5:30 p.m. on
August 31, 2009 in the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.06(b) of the Tax Code, the governing body
of the taxing unit shall announce at the public hearings the date, time, and place for the
meeting at which they will vote on the tax rate for 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in
all things approved.
Section 2. Public hearings on the proposed tax rate are hereby called for at 5:30
p.m. on August 24, 2009 and at 5:30 p.m. on August 31, 2009 in the City Council Chamber,
107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas.
Section 3. That a proposal to adopt a tax rate for 2009 shall be placed as an action
item on a future Ciry Council agenda prior to September 30, 2009.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
