DESCRIPTION:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF THE FIFTH
AMENDMENT TO THE LANDFILL SERVICE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF PARIS AND WASTE MANAGEMENT OF TEXAS, INC.; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The changes in the contract are as follows: twice a year waste management will
provide a truck and workers for the KPB "Trash Off' and the brush truck will be
allowed to dump six (6) loads at the demolition rate of $28.00 per ton. The rates
will remain the same as the previous contract. We currently pay $9.88 for a
compacted cubic yard. Paying by the compacted cubic yard is beneficial to the
City of Paris. Waste Management can request an increase at the Dallas CPI. The
length of contract is currently being negotiated. The City of Paris would like a
three year term and Waste Management wants a five year term.
