O1/25/10 RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a resolution appointing Curtis Fendley to the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority (SURRMA). POLICY ISSUE(S): Board appointment BACKGROUND: The Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority (SURRMA) reserves one position on the board for a representative for the City of Paris. The City makes a recommendation to Lamar County Commissioners Court and it is Commissioners Court that makes the formal appointment. Board Member Curtis Fendley's is the City's current representative and his term will expire February 1, 2010. The SURRMA Board recommends reappointment of Mr. Fendley for a two-year term and Mr. Fendley is interested in continuing to serve. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, RECOMMENDING THE (RE)APPOINTMENT OF AS A MEMBER OF THE SULPHUR RIVER REGIONAL MOBILITY AUTHORITY BOARD MAKING OTHER FIIVDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the term of office of Curtis Fendley, as a member of the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority Board, expires on February 1, 2010; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris supports and recommends the (re)appointment of to the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authroity Board of Directors by the Lamar County Commissioners' Court. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas supports and recommends the (re)appointment of , as a member of the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority Board of Directors by the Lamar County Commissioner's Court.
