2010-005 RES SUPPORTING APPLICATION OF PARIS RETIREMENT VILLAGE II FOR HOUSING TAX CREDITS AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM FUNDSRESOLUTION NO. 2010-005 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION OF PARIS RETIREMENT VILLAGE II, LTD FOR HOUSING TAX CREDITS AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM FUNDS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Paris Retirement Village II, LTD. has proposed a development for affordable rental housing at 1500 W. Washington St., Paris, TX 75460, named Paris Retirement Village II in Paris, County of Lamar; and, WHEREAS, Paris Retirement Village II intends to submit a joint application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for 2010 Housing Tax Credits and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds for Paris Retirement Village II; and, WHEREAS, Section 50.9(i)(5), Texas Administrative Code, which gives Housing Tax Credit points for the commitment of development funding by local political subdivisions, states that the TDHCA HOME Program funds will not qualify for points in this category "unless a resolution is submitted with the application from the Local Political Subdivision authorizing that the Applicant act on behalf of the Local Political Subdivision in applying for HOME or Housing Trust Funds from TDHCA for the particular application." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The City of Paris, Texas appoints Paris Retirement Village II, LTD. to act on its behalf in applying for TDHCA HOME funds for Paris Retirement Village II an affordable rental housing development at 1500 W. Washington, Paris, Texas 75460. Section 3. The City of Paris supports the application of Paris Retirement Village II, LTD. for Housing Tax Credits and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds for Paris Retirement Village II. Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage.
