10-Year Capital Improvement Plan Update
BACKGROUND:
A 10-year capital improvement plan (CIP) was submitted to the City Council in December 2008. The
plan consisted of water, sewer and street projects that have been prioritized by the Engineering, Water
Distribution, Sewer Maintenance and Street Departments. The 2008-2009 CIP called for two water line
replacement projects, one sewer line replacement project, a sewer plant master plan, the purchase of a
sewer camera, crack sealing, seal coating and paving Castlegate Drive with plant mix seal. The majority
of these projects have been completed and the sewer plant master plan should be finished in the near
future.
The attached list shows what projects have been completed. The rain this last year delayed all of our
construction projects. The projects listed for the current budget year are all still in the design phase with
the exception of the Street Department projects. The proposed projects for this current budget year are
listed on the attached sheet.
The entire CIP is currently being revised with problem areas being moved to a higher priority. Staff
plans to have the new CIP completed for use in the upcoming budget process.
