00-AgendaCITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows: Opening Agenda 1. Call meeting to order. 2. Invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Citizens' forum. (Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.) Consent Agenda Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. 5. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meeting on April 22, 2010 and Apri126, 2010. 6. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, and committees: a. Fire and Building Code Review Committee minutes (2-9-2010 and 4-13-2010) b. Paris Visitors and Convention Council minutes (11-19-2009) c. Traffic Commission minutes (3-2-2010) d. Planning and Zoning Commission minutes (4-5-2010) Regular Agenda 7. Deliberate and act on a curb and gutter variance request and the master, preliminary, and final plats of Lot 2, Block A, Enns Addition Phase II, located at 2250 30th Street NW. 8. Deliberate and act on the Final Plat of Lot 1, Block A, The Temple of Deliverance Church Addition CB53, located in the 500 Block of Graham. 9. First reading, deliberate and possibly act on an Ordinance amending the Traffic Control Map to place a no parking zone in the 200 block of 2"d Street SW. 10. Deliberate and act on a Resolution authorizing a Municipal Solid Waste grant application to the Ark-Tex Council of Governments Regional Solid Waste Grants Program Grant and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents. 11. Deliberate and act on a Resolution authorizing a contract for applying herbicides and outdoor insecticides and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents. 12. Deliberate and act on a Resolution stating strong support for the role Turner Industries plays in the social and economic vitality of the region. 13. First reading, deliberate and possibly act on an Ordinance adopting a Code of Ethics and Conduct for City Council, employees, boards, commissions, and committees. 14. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004-081. 15. Adjournment.
