A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
STATING STRONG SUPPORT FOR THE SIGNIFICANT ROLE THAT TURNER
INDUSTRIES' PARIS, TEXAS, OPERATIONS PLAY IN THE SOCIAL AND
ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE REGION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Turner Industries' Paris operation is the largest pipe fabrication facility in
the United States; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries has provided a single vendor solution in heavy industrial
construction, maintenance, pipe, module and vessel fabrication, equipment, rigging and heavy
hauling, and associated specialty services for nearly 50 years; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries is vested in Paris and surrounding communities and has
taken an active, participatory role in community events to increase the quality of life as much
for people throughout the area as for their own employees; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries has remained committed to Paris and Lamar County
during these and other economically and socially challenging times; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries has accepted responsibility in being involved in the Paris
community, where its employees live and work; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries has focused on being a good corporate citizen backed by
action and financial support; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries has directly and indirectly provided well-paying
employment and benefits to many Paris and Lamar County residents, including countless
opportunities for individuals possessing criminal histories to start their lives anew with
significant jobs; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries delivers one of the highest levels of economic impact in
the greater Paris community, serving as a major source of financial support for individuals,
businesses, nonprofit and government organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Turner Industries serves in an overall anchor position within the
community.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris and our community does not tolerate or approve of racism,
discrimination or harassment in any form.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.

Section 2 That Turner Industries corporate leaders Sue Turner, Roland Toups and Bob
Pearson, all members of the company's management team, Paris plant manager Tom Glascock
and all employees of the company be recognized for their commitment, patience and
contributions as valued and vital members of the Paris and Lamar County community.
Section 3. That Turner Industries will receive all support possible from the City Council
and City staff in the company's desire to achieve the fullest degree of success in its Paris
operations.
Section 4. That the Paris City Council calls upon all citizens of the City and the greater
Paris community to support Turner Industries as it seeks to strengthen opportunities for its
employees and its business within the area.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage.
