RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve a Resolution extending the terms of Zoning Board of Adjustment members Rick
Hundley and Allen Moore to June 30, 2013.

BACKGROUND:
At the City Council meeting of July 26, 2010, Council Member Rhonda Rogers brought to the attention
of staff that the terms of the members of the Board of Adjustment were set to expire at the same time.
Accarding to the policy of the City Council, the members are to serve staggered terms. Staff is
recommending that the terms of Rick Hundley and Allen Moore be extended one year, because they
were the most recent appointees. This will alleviate the problem of all the terms expiring at one time.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
EXTENDING THE TERMS OF TWO EXISTING MEMBERS OF THE BOARD
OF ADJUSTMENT IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE STAGGERED TERMS ON THE
BOARD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; A1VD PROVIDIIVG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in order to maintain staggered terms on the Board of Adjustment, two
current members should be reappointed to serve extended terms to expire on June 30,
2013; and,
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the terms of Rick Hundley and Allen Moore be
extended one year which will extend their terms to expire on June 30, 2013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the terms of Rick Hundley and Allen Moore be, and they are
hereby extended to serve as members of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris for
terms ending on June 30, 2013.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of
passage.
