RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Appoint applicants to fill current vacancies on various Boards and Commissions. Traffic Commission -
George Kimbrough, Bryan Glass - Board of Adjustments, Zach Saffle - Buildings and Standards and
Bill Harris - Main Street Advisory Board.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Commission and Board Vacancy
BACKGROUND:
The Traffic Commission currently has two unfilled positions, the Board of Adjustments currently has
three vacancies, the Building and Standards Commission currently has one vacancy and the Main Street
Advisory Board currently has one vacancy.
George Kimbrough, 3070 Clark Lane Paris, Texas, has made application to become a member of the
City of Paris Traffic Commission. Mr. Kimbrough was a previous member of the Traffic Commission
until his term expired in April 2010. During Mr. Kimbrough's tenure on the Traffic Commission he was
a very dependable and active member.
Bryan D. Glass, 1825 Bella Vista Paris, Texas, has made application to become a member of the Board
of Adjustments.
Zach Saffle, 2995 Hubbard Paris, Texas, has made application to become a member of the Building and
Standards Commission. Mr. Saffle has previously served on this commission.
Bill Harris, 3221 Cleveland Paris, Texas, has made application to become a member of the Main Street
Advisory Board. Mr. Harris has previously served on several boards and commissions.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
APPOINTING MEMBERS TO VARIOUS CITY OF PARIS BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR
STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2008 the City Council approved new Policies and
Procedures for Standing Boards, Commissions and Committees for the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the policies and procedures these standing boards
and commissions will be composed of seven members and will serve three year terms; and,
WHEREAS, several boards and commissions have recently lost members due to
expiring terms, resignations, and conflicts of interest and some meetings have been
canceled due to a lack of a quorum; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that new appointments
should be made to the Boards and Commissions listed herein to fill the vacancies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the following appointment is hereby made to the Main Street
Advisory Board: Bill Harris to serve a three year term from May 10, 2011 to June 30,
2014.
Section 3. That the following appointment is hereby made to the Board of
Adjustments: Bryan D. Glass to serve a three year term from May 10, 2011 to June 30,
2014.
Section 4. That the following appointment is hereby made to the Building and
Standards Commission: Zach Saffle to serve a three year term from May 10, 2011 to June
30, 2014.
Section 5. That the following appointment is hereby made to the Traffic
Commission: George Kimbrough to serve a three year term from May 10, 2011 to June 30,
2014.
Section 6. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of
passage.
