PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOiJNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF
13.635 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, AS REQLTESTED BY PETITION OF
THE OWNERS THEREOF; GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO
ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING
SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE • REPEALING ALL

WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the current city limits of the
city of Pazis, Texas, and is not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width; and,
WHEREAS, said petition fully conformed with the requirements of Section 6 of the
Charter of the City of Paris and Section 43.028 of the Local Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 9th day of August,
2004; and,
VVIREREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments for and against the same, the
City Council adopted Resolution No. 2004-140 granting such petition to annex said territory into
the city of Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS. PARIS.

Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the following described property, to-wit:
Being all that certain tract of land situated in Lamar
County, Texas, a part of the Wesley Askins Survey, Abstract No.
7, a part of the 100.00 acre tract of land conveyed to D. Wayne
Brown, et al., by deed recorded in Volume 939, Page 31 of the
Lamar County Real Property Records, and a part of the 121.76
acre tract of land conveyed to D. Wayne Brown, et al., by deed
recorded in Volume 949, Page 296 of the Lamar County Real
Property Records, and being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin found at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 17,
Block B, of The Hills Phase III as recorded in Envelope No. 371-C of the
Lamar County Plat Records;

be, and the same is hereby, annexed to the city of Paris, Texas, and that boundary limits of the
city of Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, extended to include the above-described
territory, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of the city of Paris,
and that said land and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all of the rights and
privileges and subject to all of the obligations and responsibilities of other citizens of the city of
Paris, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of the City of Paris.
Section 3. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed to file with the County
Clerk of Lamar County, Texas, a certified copy of this Ordinance accompanied by a copy of the
Petition for Annexation.
Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective on October 1, 2004.
