AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR
THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF
APPROXIMATELY 17.6 ACRES, MORE OR LESS; GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY
AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS
AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE
INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS;
AND PROVIDING ZONING FOR SAID TERRITORY.
VVHEREAS, a petition of annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and
every person or corporation having an interest in the following described territory, to-wit:
Tract 1
Situated about 3 1/2 miles South 70 Deg. East of the City of Paris, County
of Lamar, and State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey #524, being a part
of a 24.693 acre tract of land conveyed Alcyone Corp. by deed recorded in Volume
694, Page 991, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin (f) for corner at the most Westerly Northwest
corner of said 24.693 acre tract;
THENCE South 1 Deg. 29 Min. West along the Westerly West Boundary
Line of said 24.693 acre tract and the East Boundary Line of a 7.436 acre tract of
land conveyed Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by deed recorded in
Volume 563, Page 853, a distance of 474.5 feet to an iron pin (f) for corner at the
Northwest corner of a 3.411 acre tract of land conveyed out of said 24.693 acre
tract;
THENCE South 89 Deg. 15 Min. East a distance of 599.3 feet to an iron
pin (fl for corner at the Northeast corner of said 3.441 acre tract;
THENCE North 1 Deg. 19 Min. East a distance of 499.3 feet to an iron pin
(s) for corner;
THENCE South 88 Deg. 23 Min. West at 190.2 feet passing an iron pin (f)
at the Southwest corner of a 5 acre tract of land conveyed 271 Truck Stop, Inc. by
deed recorded in Volume 525, Page 274, of said Deed Records, said point being
an el corner of said 24.693 acre tract, and continuing along the South Boundary
Line of said 5 acre tract a distance of 598.6 feet to the place of beginning,
containing 6.690 acres of land. Being the same property conveyed the Breakfast
Optimist Club of Paris by deed recorded in Volume 127, Page 144, Real Property
Records, Lamar County, Texas.
Tract 2
- Situated about 3 1/2 miles South 70 Deg. East of the City of Paris, County
of Lamar, and State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey #524, being a part
of a 24.693 acre tract of land conveyed Alcyone Corp. by deed recorded in Volume
694, Page 991, Deed Records, Lamar Counry, Texas, and being more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin for corner at the most Westerly Southwest
corner of said 24.693 acre tract, said point being an el corner of a 7.436 acre tract
of land conveyed Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by deed recorded in
Volume 563, Page 853, of said Deed Records;
THENCE North 1 Deg. 29 Min. East along an East Boundary Line of said
7.436 acre tract and the most Westerly West Boundary Line of said 24.693 acre
tract a distance of 250 feet to an iron pin for corner;
THENCE South 89 Deg. 15 Min. East a distance of 599.3 feet to an iron
pin for corner;
THENCE South 1 Deg. 19 Min. West a distance of 250 feet to an iron pin
for corner at the most Easterly Northeast corner of said 7.436 acre tract;
THENCE North 89 Deg. 15 Min. West a distance of 600 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 3.441 acres of land. Being the same property conveyed
the Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by deed recorded in Volume 705,
Page 269, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas.
Tract 3
Situated about 2.5 miles Southeast from Paris, Lamar County, Texas, being
a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, Abstract No. 524, also being a part of a 38 acre
tract of land described in a deed recorded in Volume 335, Page 227, Deed •
Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pipe set for a corner, said point being the
Southwest corner of said 38 acre tract;
THENCE North a distance of 1,691 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner, t.
said point being the South Boundary Line of U.S. Highway No. 271;
THENCE with the South Boundary Line of said Highway No. 271, South
64 Deg. East a distance of 55.6 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner;
THENCE South a distance of 1,266.66 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner;
THENCE East a distance of 600 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner;
THENCE South a distance of 400 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner; '
THENCE with the South Boundary Line of said 38 acre tract, West a
distance of 650 feet to the place of beginning, containing 7.436 acres of land.
Being the same property conveyed the Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by
deed recorded in Volume 563, page 853, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas, and is not more than one-half (1 /2) mile in width; and, ,
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 18th day of February,
1999;and,
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments for and against the same, the
City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the Ciry of Paris, Paris,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described property should be properly zoned as of the date of
annexation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the following described property, to-wit:

7.436 acre tract and the most Westerly West Boundary Line of said 24.693 acre
tract a distance of 250 feet to an iron pin for corner;
THENCE South 89 Deg. 15 Min. East a distance of 599.3 feet to an iron
pin for corner;
THENCE South 1 Deg. 19 Min. West a distance of 250 feet to an iron pin

THENCE North 89 Deg. 15 Min. West a distance of 600 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 3.441 acres of land. Being the same property conveyed
the Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by deed recorded in Volume 705,
Page 269, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas.
Tract 3
Situated about 2.5 miles Southeast from Paris, Lamar County, Texas, being
a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, Abstract No. 524, also being a part of a 38 acre
tract of land described in a deed recorded in Volume 335, Page 227, Deed
Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pipe set for a corner, said point being the
Southwest corner of said 38 acre tract;
THENCE North a distance of 1,691 feet to an iron pipe set for a corner,

THENCE with the South Boundary Line of said 38 acre tract, West a
distance of 650 feet to the place of beginning, containing 7.436 acres of land.
Being the same property conveyed the Breakfast Optimist Club of Paris, Texas, by
deed recorded in Volume 563, page 853, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby, annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and that boundary limits
of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, extended to include the above-
described territory, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of the City
of Paris, and that said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all of
the rights-and privileges of other citizens of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and shall be bound
by the acts and ordinances of the City of Paris.
Section 2. The above-described territory is hereby zoned Agricultural District (A) with
Specific Use Permit (17) Fraternal Organization upon annexation as provided for in Zoning
Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas.
Section 3. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council of the City of Paris
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and
if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, or section of this ordinance shall be declared
unconstitutional or invalid by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction,
such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses,
sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by
the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any unconstitutional or invalid
phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs or sections. It is further hereby declared to be the
intention of the City Council of the City of Paris to exclude any area or areas described in the
description of the property to be annexed which are not within said City's jurisdiction to annex,
and that such area or areas should be carved out of the description by the valid judgment or decree
of any court of competent jurisdiction, in order that such area or areas would not cause this
annexation ordinance to be found to be invalid, voidable, or void.
Section 4. That the City Clerk of the City of Paris be, and she is hereby, directed to file
with the County Clerk of Lamar County a certified copy of this Ordinance.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall become effective upon passage.
