AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING TOR Tf-1E EXTENSION OF CER-
TAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF TIiF CITY OT PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
AND THE ANNEXATIUN UT CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF
27.68 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, WI-TICI-1 IS LESS THAN TEN PER
CENT (1070) OT TI1E TERRITORY INCLUDED WITI-IIN ITS PKESENT
CITY LIMITS, WI-TICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND
ADJOINS Tf-lE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF -Tf-1E CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TFXAS, AND PROVIDING ZONING rUR SAID TERRITURY.
WHEREAS, a puUlic hearing before the City Council of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were provided
with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
following described territory:
Being part of the Joseph Leach Survey, a part of a44 acre tract of land conveyed George O. Fisher, Jr, by
deed recorded in Vol. 31.2, Page 381, Deed Records,
Lamar County, Texas and being more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, rhe Northeast corner of
Morningside Estates, Part said point being in the
present City Limit Line and in the West Uoundary
line of the above mentioned 44 acre Fislier tract;

is not more than twenty nor less r.han ten days prior to the institu-
tion of annexation proceedings; and,
WIiEREAS, notice of such Public hearing was published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas,
and in the above described territory, on the 24th day of March,
1977, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days
prior to the date of such public heariiig;
VVHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1977, was 13, 879. 539
acres; and,
WI-1EftEAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
, is in excess of 5, 000 and less than 25, 000 inhabitants; and,

VA-1EREAS, the above described territory lies within the ex-
traterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WI-iEREAS, the above desCriUed territory lies adjacent to and
adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 27. 68
acres, more .or ]ess, which when added to other property annexed in
the year 1977 is less than ten per cent (1017.) of the present acreage
contained in the corporate limits oE the City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEI2CAS, the above descriUed property should be properly
zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW, TI-1ERETORE,
BE IT ORDAINCD BY TI-1E CTTI' COUNCIL OF Tf-1E CITY OF
PARIS:
Section 1. Ilie following described land and territory 'lying
adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby
added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said
territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the
boundary limits oE the City of Paris, Texas, and the present boundary
limits of said city, at the various points contigtious to the area here-
inafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area
within the corPorate ]imits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit:

Section 2. T1ie above described territory and area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Paris, Texas, and the pro-
perty so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes
levied by tlie City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and tlle inhabitants there-
of shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and
regulations of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas.
Section 3. The aUove described territory is hereby zoned
One-Family Dwelling District No. 2(ST-2) upon annexation as pro-
vided for in Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 of the City oE Paris, Paris,
Texas.
Section 4. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the
City Council of the City of Paris that the sections, paragraphs,
sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable,
and if any plirase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this
ordinance sliall be declared unconstitutional or invalid by the valid
, judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining
phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this
ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City
Council without the incorporation in tllis ordinance of any unconsti-
tutional or invalid phrases, clauses, sentences, Paragraphs or
sections. It is further hereby declared to be the intention of the
City Council of the City of Paris to exclude any area or areas de-
, scribed in the description of the property to be annexed, which are
' not within said City's jurisdiction to annex and that such area or
areas should be cai ved out of the description of the property
herein described by the valid judgment or decree of any court of
competent jurisdiction, in order that such area or areas would not
cause this annexation ordinance to be found to be invalid, voidable
or void.
Section S. Tfiis ordinance shall be published and passed in
the manner provided in Article II, Section 7, of the Charter of the
Ciry of Paris, Paris, Texas.
