AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY Or PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION-OF CERTAIN
TERRITORY CONSISTING OF LESS TI-iAN TEN PER CENT (10%) OF ITS PRE.
SENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND AD.
JOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS-OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
Wf-IEREAS) a public hearing before the City Council of the City
' of Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with
an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
following described property:
Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas,
and being a part of the 1Zedding Russell Survey, and being
described as follows:
Beginning at a point vh ere the South East Corner of
property belonging to the John Kraft Sesame Corporation
intersects the North Boundary Line of West Center Street,
in the City of Paris, Texas;
Thence Nor-th with the E.B. Line of the Sesame property
, to its North :East Corner;
Thence West with the N.B. Line of said Sesame property
to the E.B. Line of property belonging to the St. Louise
San Francisco Railway Company;
Thence North with the E.B. Line of said Railway Right
of Way to where the same intersects the North Boundary
,Line of Highway Loop 286;
Thence West wi-Lh the North Boundary Line of Highway
Loop 286 to the West Boundary Line of the S-t. Louis-San
Francisco Railway Company Right of Way;
Thence South with the same to the North East Corner of
a tract belonging to Champion Packages Company;
Thence West with the N.B. Line of the Champion Paclcages
Company to its North West Corner;
Thence South to the North Boundary Line of West Center

Thence East with the N.B. Line of West Center Street to

was held at Paris, Texas, on the 8th day of May, A. D., 1967, which
date is no1: more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the
institution of annexation pxoceedings; and,
WHEREA.S, notice of such public hearing was published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas,
and in the above described territory, on the 21st day of April,
A. D,, 1967, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten
days prior to the date of such public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, the population of 1;he City of Paris, Texas, is in
excess of 5,000 and less than 25,000 inhabitants; and,
VJHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extra»
-territorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and
adjoins the Ci-Ly of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory contains less than ten
per cent (107o) of the present acreage contained in the corporate
limits of the City of Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS: - - -
Section 1. The following described land and territory lying
adjacen-L i;o and a3joining the City of Paris, Texas, is hereby added
and annexed to the City of Paris, Texas, and said territoxy hexe-
inafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary
,limits of the City'.of Paris, Texas, and the present boundary limits
of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area herein.
after described, are altered and amended so as to include said area
within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, to-wit:
Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas,
and being a part of the Redding Russell Survey, and being
described as follows:
Beginning at a pcdzt where the South East Corner of
property belonging -to the John Kraft Sesame Corpoxation
intexsects the North Boundary Line of West Center Street,
in the City of Paris, Texas;
Thence North with the E.B. Line of the Sesame property
to its North East Corner;
Thence West with i;he N.B. Line of said. Sesame property
to the E.B. Line of property belonging to the St. Louis.»

Thence North with the E.B. Line of said Railway Right

Thence South with the same to the North East Corner of
a tract belonging to Champion Packages Company;
Thence West with the N.B. Line of the Champion Packages
Company to its North West Corner;
Thence South to the North Boundary Line of West Center
Street;
Thence East with the N.B. Line of West Center Street to
the place of beginning.
Section 2,. The above described territory and area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Paris, Texas, and the pro-
perty so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes
l.evied by the City of Paris, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the xights and privileges of all the
citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions,
and regulations of the City of Paris, Texas. That the above
property shall Ue annexed under 1;he zoning classific ation of Light
Industrial as is provided for under Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 of
the City of Paris, Texas.
