1543j - ~ ( ORDINANCE NO, 1543 * AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING, AI3MITTING AND INCORPORATING ADIZI- TIONAL TERRITORY IN LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, INTO AND AS A PART OF SAID CITY OF PARIS, EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO INCLUDE AND EMBR.ACE SAID ADJACENT TERRITORY4, CON- FERRING ALL RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF CITIZENSHLP UPON THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TERRITORY, EXTENDING THE BOUN- DA.RY OF WARD THREE SO AS TO EMBRA.CE AND INCLUDE ALL OF SAID TERRITORY AND INCORPORATING THE SAME IN S1siID WARD THR.EE, PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES, RULES, R.EGULATIONS, AND LAWS IN EFFECT IN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THAT MAY HEREAFTER BE PASSED IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT IN SAII? TERRITORY AFTER PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE, INSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE A SURVEY FIxING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE HE REWITH AND TO CQNSTRUCT A COM- PLETE MAP OF SUCH TERRITORY SHOWING STREETS, ALLEYS, LOTS, `TRACTS, ANI? PRQPERTY OWNERS, AND TO FILE SAME WITH THE CITY CLERK AND TO CORRECT THE MAP OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO AI?D SUCH TERRITORY THER,ETO; AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY ASSESSOR ANI? COLLECTOR OF TAXES TO LT,ST ALL PROPERTY THEREIN ANI? PLACE SAME ON THE TAX ROLLS OF THE CITY OF PARIS AND TQ HEREAFTER ASSESS SAME FOR TAXES IN ACCORDANCE WITH LAW. BE IT ORDAINEI? BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF P.ARZS: Section 1. That the following described territory in Lamar County, Texas~ lying adjacent to the present boundary limits of the City of Paris, be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Paris and admitted into the corporation of said City, and is hereby made and constituted a part and portion of the City of Paris, and the Boundary Limits of the City of Paris are hereby extended so as to include and embrace said territory and to conform to same as herein set out, to-wit: Situated in the County of Lamaar and State of Texas, and described as follows: Beginning at the present City Limit Line at a point 200 feet East and 200 feet North of the intersection of 27th S rt~,veet, N. W. and Campbell Street, at an ell corner of the North Bpundary Line in the City Limits of the City of Paris; Thence East and 200 feet North of and parallel with Campbell Street to a point in a West Boundary Line of the present City Limits, which point is located 200 feet West and 200 feet North of the intersection of Campbell Street and 19th Street, N. W. ; Thence South with the W. B. Line of the present City Limits of the City of Paris to an ell corner in the Northern City Limit Line, at a point 200 feet North and West of the intersection of ~ Graham Street and 19th Street, N. W. ; Thence West and parallel with Graham Street at a distance of 200 feet therefrom to an ell corner which is located at a point approxima,tely 200 feet North and 200 feet East of the intersection of 27th Street, N. W. and GAaam Street; Thence North with the Boundary Line of the present City Limits to the place of beginning. The inhabita.nts within said annexed territory are and shall hereafter be entitled to enjoy all the rights, privileges and immunities of citizens of the City of Paris, and all laws, ordinances, rules, resolui:ions, acts, and regulations of said City now in force in said City of Paris, and that may be hereafter passed, shall be and are in full force and effect in said territory hereby annexed and admitted; said area to be admitted under a Residential zoning classification. r Section 2. That the present boundaries of Ward Three of the City of Paris be, and the same are hereby extended so as to embrace and include within said Ward Three all of said property which is described above, and the same is hereby incorporated in said Ward Three of the City of Paxis. Section 30 The City Engineer is hereby instructed to make a complete survey of the above described territory and to mark the boundaries thereof by proper monuznents; and to survey, estalalish and open, under the direction of the City Manager, all streets, roads, alleys and ways in said territory dedicated to public use; and to make and file with the City Clerk a complete map of said newly annexed territory showing all property lines, lots, and tracts therein, together with the names of the owners of same, and all streets, alleys, roads• and ways dedicated to public use; and to immediately correct the map of the City of Paris so as to add thereto, the additional territory described herein, indicating on such map the date of annexa.tion, the number of the ordinance and reference to the minutes or ordinance records of the City of Paris where such instrument is recorded in full. -Section 4. The City Tax Assessor and Collector of Taxes of the City of Paris is hereby directed to list all lots, tracts and property situated in said annexed territory on the tax rolls of the City of Paris and hereafter ,to assess same for ta.xes in accordance with law. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective upon final passage. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 13th day of March, A. D., 1961.
