1496<s .i ORDINANCE NO. 1496 AN OR.DINANCE ANNEXING, ADMITTING AND INCORPORA TING ADDITIONAL TERRITORY IN LA.MAR COUNTY, TEXAS, LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF PARIS, ']E XAS, INTO AND AS A PART OF SAID CITY OF PARIS, EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO INCLUDE AND EMBRACE SAID ADJACENT TERRITORY, CON- FERRING ALL RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF CITIZENSHIP UPON THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TERRITORY, EXTENDING THE BOUNDA- RIES OF WARD FOUR SO AS TO EMBR.ACE AND INCLUDE ALL OF SAID ' TERRITORY AND iNCORPO.R.ATING THE SAME IN.SAID WARD FOUR OF SAID CITY; PROVIDING TH3AT' ALL ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS, AND LAWS IN EFFECT IN THE CTTY .OF PARIS AND THAT MAY HERE.- AFTER BE PAS5ED IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT IN SAID TER.RITORY AFTER PASSAGE OF THIS OR.DINANCE, INSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE A SURVEY FIXINCt AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARY 'LIMITS OF SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE HEREWITH AND TO CONSTRUC T A COMPLE TE MAP OF SUCH TERRI TORY SHO WING S TREE TS, ~ ALLEYS, LOTS, TR.ACTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS AND TO FILE SAME WITH THE CITY CLERK AND TO CORRECT THE MAP OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO ADD 5UCH TERRITORY THERETO; AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY. ASSESSOR AND COLLEC TOR OF TAXES TO LIST ALL PROPERTY THER,EIN AND PLACE SAME ON THE TAX ROLLS OF THE CITY OF PARiS AND HEREAFTER ASSESS SAME FOR TAXES IN ACCORDANCE WITH LA,W. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COiJNCTL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. -T'ha.t the following described territory in Lamar County, Texa.b, lying ad,jacent to the present boundary limits of the City of Paris be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Paris and adrnitted into the corporation of such City, and is hereby made and constituted a part and portion of the City of Paris and the Boundary Limits of the City of Paris are hereby extended so as to include:.and embr,ace said territory and to conform to same as herein set out, to-vyit: Situated. in the County of Lamar and Sta.te of Texas, and being a part of the Hiram Williams Survey, and being described as follows:. Beginning at the N. E. Corner of a lot in the partition of J. S. Booth Eatate, being the N. E. Corner of a tract shown in Book 354, Page 369 of the Deed Records of Lamar County, and on the West Boundaxy Line of 25th Street, N. E. ; Thence South with the W. B. Line of 25th Street, N. E., a distance of .760 feet; Thence West 378 feet; Thence South 70 degrees and 35 v minutes West, 160 feet; Thence North 34 degrees, 11 minutes, West, 523 feet to a point in the South Boundary Line of Farm to Market Road No. 195; Thence South West with the S. B. Line of ~ Farm to Market Road No. 195 to a point where said Farm to Ma.rket Road intersects the present City Limit Lines of the City ' of Paris; Thence North West to the North Boundary Line of Farm to Ma.rket Road No. 195; Thence North East with the N. B. Line • of Farm to Market Road No. 195 to a point immediately West of the Northern North West Corner of the Ballard to Dodson Tractj Thence East to the S. B. Line of Farm to Market Road No. 195, being the S. B. Line of a dirt road, where Farm to Market Road No. 195 intersects the S. B. Line of the dirt road, said point being the most Northern North West Corner of the Ballard to Dodson Tract; Thence North 88 degrees and 13 minutes East with the S. B. Line of said dirt road, 368.5 feet to the place of beginning. - ~ The inhabita.nts within said annexed territory are and shall hereafter be entitled to enjoy all the rights, privileges and immunities of-citizens of the City of Paris, and all laws, ordinances, rules, reaolutions, acts, and regula.. tions of said City now in force in said City Qf Paris, and that ma.y be here- after passed, shall be and are in full force and effect in said territory hereby annexed, and admitted, said area to be admitted under a Residential zoning classification. Section 2. That the present boundaries of Ward Four of the City of Paria be, and the same are hereby extended so as to embrace and include within said Ward Four all of the said property which is described above, and the sarne is hereby iiicorporated in said Ward Four of the City of Paris. Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to ma,ke a complete survey of the above described territory and to mark the boundaries thereof by proper monuments; and to survey, esta.blish and open, under the direction of the City Manager, all streets, roads, alleys and ways in said territory dedicated to public usej and to ma.ke and file with the City Clerk a complete map of said newly annexed territory shovying all property lines, lots, and tracts therein, together with the narnes of the owners of same, and all streets, alleys, roads, and ways dedicated to public use, and to immediately , correct the ma.p of -the City of Paris so as to add thereto, the additional territory described herein, indicating on such ma,p the date -of annexa.tion, ~ the number of the ordinances and reference to the minutes or ordinance records of the City of Paris where such instrument is recorded in full. Section 4. The City Tax Assesaor and Collector of Taxes of the City of Paris is hereby directed to list all lots, tracts and property. situated in said ;itnnexed territory on the ta,x rolls of the City of Paris and hereafter to assess same for ta.xes in accordance with law. Section 5, This ordinance sha.ll become effective upon fina,l passage. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council an the lOth day of August, A. D. , 1959. Passed on first reading on August 10, 1959; passed on second reading on September 14, 1959; and passed on final reading on November 9, 1959.
