RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve a Resolution to fill cuirent vacancy on Historic Preservation Commission as the Main
Street Advisor.

BACKGROUND:
The Historic Preservation Commission has one vacancy due to the resignation of Matthew Coyle the
current liaison for Main Street. Mr. Coyle will continue to serve on the Main Street Advisory Board.
The Historic Preservation Commission is required to have one member who is a currently serving on the
Main Sfireet Advisory Board to act as liaison.
The City has received one application from Ms. Britin Bostick who currently serves on the Main Street
Advisory Board. Ms. Bostick currently holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A& M
University with a minor in Art & Architectural History. She is an actively proinoting growth and
development in the Downtown Historic District.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
COMMISSION, CITY OF PARIS BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF MATTHEW COYLE THE CURRENT LIAISON FOR
THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH POLICIES
AND PROCEDURES FOR STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND
COMMITTEES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2008 the City Council approved new Policies and
Procedures for Standing Boards, Commissions and Committees for the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the policies and procedures these standing boards
and commissions will be composed of seven members and will serve three year terms; and,
WHEREAS, The Historic Preservation Commission has one vacancy due to the
resignation of Matthew Coyle, the current liaison for Main Street Advisory Board. The
Historic Preservation Commission is required to have one member who is currently
serving on the Main Street Advisory Board to act as liaison; and,
WHEREAS, The City has received one application from Ms. Britin Bostick who
currently serves on the Main Street Advisory Board; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that a new appointment
should be made to the Historic Preservation Commission to fill the vacancy of Matthew
Coyle expiring June 30, 2013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the following appointment is hereby made to the Historic
Preservation Commission: Britin Bostick to serve the unexpired term of Matthew Coyle
until June 30, 2013.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of
passage.

heritage tourism and weekend stays! I am committad to promating small business growth and development in

professional abilities for the bettenment of the community!
