RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF LAMAR
AVENLTE UTILITY REPLACEMENT PROJECT FROM 20TH STREET N.E.
(F.M. 195) TO N. COLLEGIATE DRIVE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of
April, 2004, in Resolution No. 2004-064 and as amended on the 24r' day of May, 2004, in
Resolution No. 2004-095, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing plant, labor,
materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the construction of "Lamar
Avenue Utility Replacement Project," from 20r' Street N. E. (F. M. 195) to N. Collegiate Drive,
which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, the 6th day of July, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by B. Bray Construction
Company, Inc., of Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the contract for such construction project, as approved by the
City Attorney, should in all things be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute
the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the bid of B. Bray Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of
"Lamar Avenue Utility Replacement Project" from 20r' Street N. E. (F. M. 195) to N. Collegiate
Drive, in the amount of $473,124.20, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned
upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents.
Section 3. That the form of the contract with B. Bray Construction Company, Inc., as
approved by the City Attorney of the City of Paris, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 4. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with B. Bray Construction Company, Inc., upon the
terms and conditions approved by the City Attorney of the City of Paris.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.

Competitive bids were received for the referenced project on July 6, 2004, at 3:00 P.M.
Attached is a tabulation of bids received for your review. It also contains the
advertisements dates in The Paris News, a list of the plan room locations and everyone
who purchased plans.
I recommend that the bid be awarded to B. Bray Construction Co., Inc., Paris, TX, in
the amount of $473,204.20.
