RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Motion authorizing staff to engage an architect to design and develop bid specifications suitable for
constructing an EMS station.

BACKGROUND:
The current North District EMS quarters are located at the PRMC North campus by the ER Waitmg
Room. The quarters are extremely cramped and lack adequate kitchen, bathroom and bedroom space.
Additionally, Hospital and North Lamar ISD vehicle traffic hamper response times. The EMS
Department is requesting permission to take the first step toward the possibility of building a station for
the North District in close proximity to the Loop 286. The station size would be about 2500 sq ft with
about 1200 sq ft living and a 1300 sq ft bay for securing 2 ambulances.
