Move to approve a Resolution appointing two members to fill the unexpired terms of Michael Cody &
Dustin Lindsey on the Main Street Advisory Board.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Commission and Board Vacancy
BACKGROUND:
On December 13, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010-122, City Council appointed Dustin Lindsey to serve
on the Main Street Advisory Board. The term expires April 30, 2012.
On June 27, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011-052, City Council appointed Michael Cody to serve on the
Main Street Advisory Board. The term expires June 30, 2014.
In October, 2011, the Main Street Advisory Board received letters of resignation from Michael Cody &
Dustin Lindsey.
Casey Ressler, 4020 Holbrook St. Paris, Texas, & Karie Raulston 854 S. Main St. Paris, Texas, has
made application to become a member of the Main Street Advisory Board.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUIVCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
APPOINTING APPLICANTS TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERMS OF
MICHAEL CODY AND DUSTIN LINDSEY ON THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY
BOARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR
STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2008 the City Council approved new Policies and
Procedures for Standing Boards, Commissions and Committees for the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the policies and procedures these standing boards
and commissions will be composed of seven members and will serve three year terms; and,
WHEREAS, the Main Street Advisory Board has two vacancies due to the
resignations of Michael Cody and Dustin Lindsey, current members on the Main Street
Advisory Board; and,
WHEREAS, the City has received applications from Casey Ressler and Karie
Raulston attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that new appointments
should be made to the Main Street Advisory Board to fill the vacancies of Michael Cody
expiring June 30, 2014 and Dustin Lindsey expiring April 30, 2012.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the following appointments are hereby made to the Main Street
Advisory Board: Casey Ressler to serve the unexpired term of Michael Cody expiring June
30, 2014 and Karie Raulston to serve the unexpired term of Dustin Lindsey expiring April
30, 2012.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of
passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of October, 2011.
