RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to accept a grant for a Type 6 Fire Engine under the TIFMAS Grant Assistance Program through the Texas
Forest Service. This grant pays 100% of the cost of a fully equipped apparatus, including an installed radio
package and loose equipment complement.

Grant Acceptance.
BACKGROUND:
ln an effort to provide rapid deployment far regional and statewide emergencies, the Texas Forest Service,
through the implementation of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) Grant Assistance Program
in 2009, is strategically placing standardized firefighting assets within the seven COG jurisdictions.
The City of Paris will take ownership of the truck, but must agree to:
1. House and maintain the apparatus/equipment so as to ensure a high state of readiness at all times.
2. Staff apparatus (when needed) with trained/qualified personnel.
3. Carry vehicle liability insurance.
4. Use the apparatus only for:
A. Local/regional Mutual Aid Incidents and/or Multiple Alarm Incidents.
B. Emergencies threatening vital National Defense, Critical Infrastructure or Important Military
Installations.
C. Local community events (e.g., parades, displays, etc.).
D. Temporary standby for City of Paris regular apparatus while out-of-service for repairs.
