Curtis Fendley, Mayor ATTEST: Sherian Dixon, Assistant City Clerk APPROVED AS TO FORM: Larry W. Schenk, City Attorney AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET PROJECT: Name the entrance road to Cox Field Airport. BACKGROUND: Currently, the entrance road to Cox Field Airport does not officially have a name, and the Post Office delivers mail to hangar tenants by route and box numbers. The Post Office has contacted the City and asked that the hangars at the airport be assigned new addresses. In addition, assigning addresses to the hangars will enable the Police Department to enter them into the 9-1-1 system. Accomplishing this will require that the entrance road be named. DESCRIPTION: This request trom the Post Office has presented the City Council with an opportunity, if it so chooses, to name the entrance road after an individual who has contributed to Cox Field Airport. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Recommend a name for the entrance road to Cox Field Airport. STAFF CONTACT: Lisa A. Wright, Director of Community Development COST: There is no cost associated with this request. COUNCIL DATE: Consider at Council's regular November 8,2004, meeting. ~ . , . ..-- ~. . '.' . .~-. . .._,
