RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION UPDATE AND URBAN
BOUNDARY CONSUL TA TION VERIFICATION FORM - SMALL URBAN
AREA, AS REQUIRED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELA TED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Engineer and other appropriate City officials have reviewed that
working document styled Small Urban Functional Classification, Paris District, prepared by the Texas
Department of Transportation for the purpose of establishing base year functional classifications of
streets, roadways, freeways, expressways, and other designated arterials as stated in the aforesaid
document; and,
WHEREAS, based on the aforesaid review, and in conformance with the requirements ofthe
Texas Department of Transportation, the Department has requested the City to verify on behalf of
the TxDOT District Staff that the City has been consulted on such matters by asking the Mayor to
execute a document verifying the opportunity for consultation and review regarding such functional
classification updates and small urban boundary smoothings; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things
approved,
Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
that document on behalf ofthe Texas Department of Transportation, styled Functional Classification
Update and Urban Boundary Consultation Verification Form - Small Urban Area, as the same is
attached hereto and for all purposes incorporated herein, including the aforesaid draft Classification
Designation Map,
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage,
