RESOLUTION NO. __________
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS, APPOINTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER TO SERVE THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF JAY GUEST WHICH ENDS MAY 7, 2005; MAKING
OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,
there exists a vacancy on the membership of the City Council of the City of Paris
due to the resignation of Jay Guest, and it is necessary that his successor be timely appointed due to the
urgency of City business requiring council action; and,
WHEREAS,
the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointment of
_______________, a person possessing all of the qualifications enumerated in Section 17 of the Charter
of the City of Paris and who is a bona fide resident of District 4 and of the City of Paris, to serve the
NOW, THEREFORE,
unexpired term of Jay Guest, which ends May 7, 2005;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2.
That _____________ be, and he/she is hereby, appointed to serve the unexpired
term of Jay Guest, which ends May 7, 2005, as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for
District 4.
Section 3.
That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
