1.The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by Vice-
Chairman Barbara Wilson at 12:00 P.M.

Discussion of and possible action on recommending revisions to the tax
exemption ordinance for historic districts to consider allowing exemptions
Barbara Wilson explained to the

Commission that an ordinance granting tax exemptions had already been
adopted, but that the Council would be considering revisions in order to
extend those exemptions to infill to be structured like tax abatements. Paul
Denney stated we needed to give some kind of incentive is we cant success
for the downtown. The Commission was of the consensus that exemptions
be extended for infill, that it is willing to extend the boundaries of the district
if necessary to assist with this, and that the Council should establish the
length and value of the exemption. Motion to recommend this to the City
Council was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion
carried 7-0.
