[AN ACTION ITEM ] - Move to approve the purchase of a new Rescue Truck.
POLICY ISSUE(S):
Vehicle replacement.
BACKGROUND:
For fiscal year 11/12, the City Council approved funding for the purchase of a new pumper ($400,000) but only
$302,000 was used, which presented a savings of ($98,000); another ($214,000) was approved for the remount of
our Rescue truck. The FD Apparatus Committee completed research to determine optimum use of funding in
order to address the Rescue Truck situation (current truck has been out-of-service since June 2011) and are
providing information as to options available and the FD's recommendation for resolution (Apparatus Committee
Report will be provided).
