Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:40 P.M. Roll was called. A. The following members were present: Chad Brown Mary Crumpler Greg Wilson Brad Archer B. The following members were absent: Mark Rothfuss Lucius Joe, Jr. Ward Hall Pike Burkhart Harrell Tippitt Ryan Lassiter 2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: A motion was made by Brad Archer to approve the meeting minutes, and Mary Crumpler seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 3. Presentation by the property owner of a plan for making repairs to the following property: A. 715 5th Street N.W., Lot 16, City Block 88 The property owner was not present at the meeting. 4. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures": A. 945 W. Garrett Street, Lot 3, City Block 101 Brad Archer made a motion to bring this item to the table. Greg Wilson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. There were no comments from the audience concerning this property. D. 431 1 st Street N .E., Lot 10, City Block 77 The property owner, Mr. Ellis stated that the building had already been demolished and that cleanup was currently taking place. Chad Brown made a motion that the property be cleanup up within 30 days with a $1000 per day civil penalty and, if the property is not cleaned up within the 30 day time period, the City will clean up the property. Brad Archer seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. E. 343 2nd Street N.E., Lot 58, City Block 8 There were no comments from the audience concerning this property. Mary Crumpler made a motion that the building be demolished within 30 days with no civil penalty. Greg Wilson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Henderson, Lot 5, City Block 98 Ms. Edna Embry stated that she intends to demolish the property, however she is waiting on her contractor to finish another job before he can begin. Ms. Embry asked that she be given 60 days to demolish the structure. Greg Wilson made a motion that the building be demolished within 60 days with a $1000 per day civil penalty and, if the building is not demolished within the 60 day time period, the City will demolish the building.
