04-C Traffic Com Minutes 3-1-05 Minutes Traffic Commission City of Paris March 1, 2005 The Traffic Commission met in a called session, Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 5:15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present: 1. Ed Ellis 2. Mary Lane 3. Jon McFadden 4. Ed Seidle 5. George Kimbrough 6. Matt Frierson The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 by Chairman Ed Ellis. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted. The first agenda item was the closure of SE 3 ST from Kaufman to Austin, which had been tabled. Mr. Seidle made a motion to bring the item from the table, Mr. McFadden seconded and the motion carried 6-0. Assistant Chief Hundley made the commissioners aware that Dan Harrison who represents First Baptist Church had stopped by before the meeting and informed him that the Church was looking at other alternatives, but did not withdraw the request. Mr. Kimbrough made a motion that the request be denied, seconded by Mr. Seidle, the motion carried 6-0. Mr. Ellis moved to the next and last item on the agenda, the request for a stop sign at the intersection of Brownwood and NE 36 ST. Assistant Chief Hundley informed the commissioners that a request had been received for the stop sign by a resident in the area, a Jerry Souder due to him witnessing near accidents. Assistant Chief Hundley told the commissioners that this is a “T” intersection and a stop sign would help prevent accidents. Mr. McFadden made a motion to place a stop sign on Brownwood at NE 36 ST, Ms. Lane seconded, and the motion carried 6-0. Mr. Kimbrough made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Seidle and passed 6- 0. The meeting was adjourned at 5:18 PM. Bob Hundley Assistant Chief of Police
