ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC
CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 31-65
OF SAID CODE TO DESIGNATE VARIOUS LOCAL TRUCK ROUTES
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
JULY 1, 2005.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged with the responsibility
to study and evaluate traffic control designations and routes on City streets and roadways;
and,
WHEREAS, among those traffic control designations and routes evaluated by the
Traffic Commission is the designation of local truck routes throughout the City in
conformance with Section 31-52(b) of the Code of Ordinances; and,
WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of June 7, 2005,
considered and evaluated various suggestions and requests for the designation of local
truck routes at various locations throughout the City, and, having done so, found and
determined that the designation of local truck routes in the City is necessary to protect the
health and safety and is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris, and have
so recommended such routes to the City Council of the City of Paris; NOW,
THEREFO RE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in
all things approved.
Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby,
amended to include the designated local truck routes as shown on Exhibits A and B
attached hereto a made a part hereof.

Section 3. That the aforesaid designated local truck routes shall be and are hereafter
subject to the regulatory requirements established in Division 3 of Article II, Sections 31-
50 through 31-57, Chapter 31 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
Section 4. That any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall
be guilty of a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fmed in any sum as provided
in Section 1-6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris.
Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall become effective on July 1,2005.
