1.The Board of Adjustment Board meeting was called to order by Chairman
John Mark Spencer at 12:00 p.m.
A.The following members were present:
Terry Christian
Rodney Bass
Howard Corriston
Kyle McCarley
B.The following members were absent:
Alternates:Richard Manning
David Glass
C.Also present was Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development.

Public Hearing to consider the petition of Glenn Bertleson granting a variance
of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 9-701 and 13-101, for a 5 foot variance
from the back property line setback and relief on the amount of lot coverage,
Frank Poye, 508 S.
on Lot 5, City Block 179, located at 509 S. Main Street.
Main, spoke in favor of granting the variance because thought it would be an
improvement to the property. Lisa Wright explained that this item will also
go before the Historic Preservation Commission to make sure that the
materials and colors are appropriate for the district.

Consideration of and action on the petition of Glenn Bertleson granting a
variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 9-701 and 13-101, for a 5 foot
variance from the back property line setback and relief on the amount of lot

Public Hearing to consider the petition of Tommy Whitten to grant a variance
of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 13-101 b. and c., for a 9 foot variance
from the side yard (which is located on a side street) and a 2 foot variance
from the back property line, on Lot 5, Block D, Oak Creek Phase I, located at

Lisa Wright stated that there was an error on the agenda
2735 Willow Bend.
pertaining to this variance–it stated that the request was for a 9 foot variance
from the side property line, it should have been a 4 foot variance from the side
lot line instead of 9 foot. The plat has an established 10 foot building line.
The typographical error created no problem with regard to approval; however,
because the Commission can approve less than what was stated on the
agenda without requiring new notice.
Mr. Whitten stated that the application had the signatures of the two (2)
adjoining property owners, Ronnie Jackson and Brad Pierce. Mr. Whitten said
that he discussed his plan with each and every neighbor. The room will be a
“He” room–a multi-purpose room with a tv and a desk.

6.The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
