MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH
The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at
the Paris-Lamar County Health Department. Board members in attendance include Dr. Robert
Moseley, Dr. Caroline Wilson, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Wally Kraft and Dr. David Carpenter.
Others in attendance included Judge Chuck Superville, Mr. Tony Williams, Mr. Anthony
Bethel, Ms. Martha J 0 Anderson and Mrs. Carla Rhodes.
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM.

Minutes of previous meeting approved with motion made by Dr. Bert Strom, second by Dr.
David Carpenter and motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Bethel presented proposed FY2006 budget for Health Department and explained proposed
budget line by line to the board members.
Dr. Carpenter states Quest Diagnostics Incorporated might give the Health Department a better
price break for lab test than what Lab-Corp is charging.
Ms. Anderson states she is trying to find the best prices on birth control pills for Health
Department to purchase.
Dr. Carpenter suggested using generic birth control pills and get prices through CVS Pharmacy.
Dr. Carpenter requested Mr. Bethel to present board members the total cost, from all grants, on
the following items: Travel Expense and how many people attended meetings, all utilities and
telephone charges with how many phone lines.
Mr. Williams suggested volume purchasing.
Dr. Kraft suggested going to DSHS for help and then going to Mark Homer for help, to get
monies for Grants.
Judge S uperville talked about approaching the Commissioners Court concerning raising septic
system fees. .

Mr. Bethel requested representatives from the board to go to the budget meetings at the
Commissioners Court and City Council. .
Dr. Kraft requested a description of services go to Commissioners Court and City Council.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
