98-009 ORD AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO 1710 ON LOT 2, CITY BLOCK 322 ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO COPORDINANCE NO. 98-009
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C)
ON LOT 2, CITY BLOCK 322, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE CITY OF PARIS,
SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS AN
AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT
TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL
1, 1998.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COLINCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that a
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) be, and the same is hereby, established on LOT 2, CITY BLOCK
322, on property belonging to the CITY OF PARIS, so as to include in such COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT (C) the hereinafter described property, which was formerly and is presently designated
as an AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A), and that the boundaries of said COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT (C), be, and the same are hereby, established as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, and being a part of the Redding Russell Survey No.
786, being Lot 2, City Block 322, and being a part of the same property described
in deed from E. W. Lovell and wife, Anna Lovell, to the City of Paris, dated
February 12, 1935, and recorded in Volume 238, Page 621, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the North Boundary Line of Loop 286
N.E., and being the Southwest corner of said Lot 2;
THENCE North 20° 16' 28" East a distance of 116.820 feet to a point;
THENCE North 71 ° 00' 32" East a distance of 637.110 feet to a point;
THENCE North 46 ° 09' 14" East a distance of 519.420 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE South 00° 19' 55" East a distance of 1,268.200 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE North 89° 53' 41" West a distance of 72.170 feet to a point for
corner in the North Boundary Line of Loop 286 N.E.;
THENCE North 57 ° 09' 00" West along said Boundary Line a distance of
886.900 feet to a point;
THENCE North 57 ° 09' 00" West along said Boundary Line a distance of
186.703 feet to a point;
THENCE North 68 ° 28' 00" West along said Boundary Line a distance of
102.00 feet to a point;
THENCE North 57 ° 09' 00" West along said Boundary Line a distance of
138.280 feet to the place of beginning and containing approximately 14.555 acres,
being number 1625 Loop 286 N.E.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
5ection 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated sections shall constitute
and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective April 1, 1998.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 9th day of March, 1998.
