AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLI5HED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A MULTIPLE-FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) ON LOTS 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F, 3G, 3H, 31, 4, 5, AND
6, CITY BLOCK 258, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO JAMES HUTCHISON, SO AS
TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2(SF-2); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) SO ESTABLISHED;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1998.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that a
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) be, and the same is hereby,
established on LOTS 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F, 3G, 3H, 31, 4, 5, AND 6, CITY BLOCK 258, on property
belonging to JAMES HUTCHISON, so as to include in such MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING
DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) the hereinafter described property, which was formerly and is presently
designated as a ONE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2(SF-2), and that the boundaries
of said MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1), be, and the same are
hereby, established as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, being Lots 3C, 31), 3E, 3F, 3G, 3H, 31, 4, 5, and 6,
City Block 258, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the North Boundary Line of Cherry Street, being
the Southwest corner of Lot 3C, City Block 258;
THENCE East along the North Boundary Line of Cherry Street a distance
of approximately 346 feet to a point for corner in the West Boundary Line of 25th
Street N. E. , also being the Southeast corner of Lot 5, City Block 258;
THENCE North along the West Boundary Line of 25th Street N. E. a
distance of 215 feet to a point for corner, being the Northeast corner of Lot 6, City
Block 258;
THENCE West a distance of 60 feet along the South Boundary Line of Lot
7, City Block 258;
THENCE North along the West Boundary Line of said Lot 7 a distance of
110 feet to a point for corner in the South Boundary Line of Lot 3G, City Block
258, also being the Northeast corner of Lot 3F;
THENCE East along the South Boundary Line of said Lot 3G a distance
of 60 feet to a point for corner in the West Boundary Line of 25th Street N.E., also
being the Southeast corner of said Lot 3G;
THENCE North along the West Boundary Line of 25th Street N.E. a
distance of 204 feet to a point for corner, being the Northeast corner of Lot 31,
City Block 258;
THENCE West along the South Boundary Line of Lot 8, City Block 258
a distance of 336 feet to a point for corner, being the Northwest corner of Lot 3C,
City Block 258;
THENCE South along the West Boundary Line of said Lot 3C a distance
of 558.5 feet to the place of beginning, being number 2455 E. Cherry Street.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above-enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 1998.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 8th day of June, 1998.
