ORDINANCE NO. 98-033
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 98-021 AND EXHIBIT AG ARET LLOORDINANCES OR PAR S OF
<br />THE 13TH DAY OF APRIL, 1998; REPEAL
<br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
<br />DATE OF JULY 13, 1998.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />Section 1. That Ordinance No. 98-021, passed and adopted on the 13t1i day of April,
<br />1998, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows:
<br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARI5, TEXAS,
<br />ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL CIT ~A~~ ~ ONFLICT HEREWITH;
<br />pRDINANCES OR PARTS OF O~
<br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 13, 1998.
<br />"WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of
<br />Deceinber, 1997, enter into an agreed order with the City of Reno eiljoining the
<br />City of Paris from enforcing municipal ordinances or providing municipal services
<br />in Tracts 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 described in the annexation ordinailce introduced
<br />to the City Council oti November 6, 1997, in the event such ordinance was later
<br />adopted by the City Council; and,
<br />"WHEREAS, said agreed order does not affect the remaining tracts
<br />described in said annexatioii ordinance, same being Tracts l, 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, and
<br />13;and,
<br />°WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the
<br />15th day of December, 1997, adopt Ordinaiice No. 97-059, same being the
<br />annexation ordinance introduced on November 6, 1997, which ordinance provided
<br />for the extension of certain boundary limits of the City of Paris and the annexation
<br />of 5,389.031 acres, more or less; and,
<br />"WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City Council adopt an
<br />Official City Limit Map that includes all of the newly annexed areas; and,
<br />°WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that, in the event tlle Court,
<br />in the pending lawsuit styled citv of Reno Texas v Civ of Pari~, Texas: Cause
<br />No. 64934, in the 62nd Judicial District Court of Lamar County, Texas, overturns
<br />the annexation of any of the areas shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto, that are
<br />also described as Tracts 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 in Ordinance No. 97-059, passed
<br />and adopted on the 15th day of December, 1997, this Ordinance become null and
