AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
ORDINANCE NO. 1710 BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 8-106 AND 8-201 OF
SAiD ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR SEXUALLY ORIENTED BUSINESSES IN
COMMERC[AL (C), LiGHT INDUSTRIAL (LI), AND HEAVY INDUSTRIAL (HI) WITH
A L[CENSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,040.00; REPEALING
ALL ORD(NANCES OR PARTS OF ORDfNANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1998.
BE IT ORDAi1VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O1+ THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1710 City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising
Section 8-106 of said ordinance by providing for sexually oriented businesses in Commercial (C),
Light industrial (LI), and Heavy Industrial (1-II) with a license.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by
revising Section 8-201 of said ordinance by adding number 42 so that such shall read as follows:
"8-201
"42. .Sex7inl/y Orienled Bu.ti•inesse,v an adult arcade, adult bookstore or adult video
store, adult cabaret, adult motel, adult motion picture theater, adult theater, escort
agency, nude model studio, or sexual encounter center."
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each and
every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be
deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly
repealed.
Section 5, This Ordinance shall become efTective on September l, 1998.
