ORDINANCE NO. 96-007
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER
7, ARTICLE V, DIVISION I, SECTION 7-101 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION; PROVIDING
FOR THE REPEAL OF CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE V, DIVISION II, SECTIONS 7-111
THROUGH 7-119 OF 5AID CODE AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE NULL AND
VOID AND OF NO EFFECT; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED
$2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH
1, 1996.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
5ection 1. That Chapter 7, Article V, Division I, Section 7-101 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such
shall read as follows:
"Sec. 7-101. Standard Mechanical Code - Adoption; penalty.
"(a) That certain mechanical code known as the Standard Mechanical Code,
1994 Edition, save and except such portions as are deleted, modified or amended
by this article, is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein. A copy of such Code has been and is now on file in the office of the City
Clerk, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits
of the City.
"(b) Any person violating any of the provisions of the Code adopted by this
section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in
any sum not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), and each and every
day's continuance of any violation of the provisions thereof shall constitute and
be deemed a separate offense."
Section 2. That Chapter 7, Article V, Division 2, Sections 7-111 through 7-119 of the
Code of Ordinances, City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, repealed and
declared null and void and of no effect.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on March 1, 1996.
