ORDINANCE NO. 96-030
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THAT PORTION OF THE STREET KNOWN AS
34TH STREET N.E. LOCATED EAST AND SOUTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF 34TH
STREET N.E. AND LOOP 286 N.E.; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR NEED OF SAID
STREET FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR FUTURE ROADWAY AND EASEMENT
PURPOSES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY 13, 1996.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris
that the portion of the street known as 34th Street N.E. located east and south of the intersection
of 34th Street N.E. and Loop 286 N.E., having been abandoned as a traveled road, is of no use
as a street to the City of Paris or to its citizens, but is of use and necessary to the City of Paris
and its citizens for future roadway and easement purposes, and the City Council so finds; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the portion of the street known as 34th Street N.E. located east and
south of the intersection of 34th Street N. E. and Loop 286 N. E. , described in Exhibit A attached
hereto, having been abandoned as a traveled road, is found to be of no use as a street to the City
of Paris or its citizens, but is of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its citizens for future
roadway and easement purposes; therefore, such street is hereby closed, with the City of Paris
retaining said property for future roadway and easement purposes.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on May 13, 1996.

Texas, a part of a public road situated in the Joseph Leach Survey, Abstract No. 524, and being
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West Boundary line of said public road, and in the most
southerly southeast corner of a 4.624 acre tract conveyed by Mrs. Anna Larkum to Mrs. Emma
M. Abernathy by deed dated March 1, 1947, and recorded in Volume 295, Page 557-8, Deed
Records, Lamar County, Texas, said point also being in the northeast corner of a 1 acre tract
conveyed by L. Freeman and wife, Lala Freeman, to Mary Frances Ramsey b dated May
1, 1957, recorded in Volume 351, Page 468, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas
