96-053 ORD PROVIDING THAT CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2-98 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 96-053
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION
2-98 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE INCREASE IN AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1996.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That Section 2-98 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris be amended so that
such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 2-98. Ambulance Service Rates.
(a) The following rates are established for emergency medical vehicle service for residents of Lamar
County:
(1) ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) $250.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(2) BA5IC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) $200.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(3) OUT OF LAMAR COUNTY $350.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
TRANSFER SERVICE of pickup to point of delivery
(4) TRANSFER SERVICE $150.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(5) RETURN TRIP $145.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
of pickup to point of delivery
(6) PERSONAL PREFERENCE $500.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
TRANSFER SERVICE of pickup to point of delivery and for
to a point outside City of Paris return to point of origin inside City
beyond a 125 mile radius Limits
(7) IN HOUSE TRANSFER $60.00 from hospital to treatment facility
and return to hospital
(8) REQUESTED SERVICE not used $50.00
(9) STANDBY $250.00 for the 1 st hour and $60.00 each
additional hour on an as available, first
request first serve basis
(b) The following rates are established for emergency medical vehicle service for non-residents of
Lamar County:
(1) ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) $250.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(2) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) $200.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(3) OUT OF LAMAR COUNTY $500.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
SERVICE a point outside of pickup to point of delivery and
the City of Paris within return to point of origiil inside City
125 mile radius of Paris
(4) TRANSFER SERVICE $150.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(5) RETURN TRIP $145.00 plus $3.50 per mile from point
of pickup to point of delivery
(6) IN HOUSE TRANSFER $60.00 from hospital to treatment facility and
return to hospital
(7) REQUESTED SERVICE not used $50.00
(c) Additional charges. In addition to the established rates a usual, reasonable and customary charge
for medical supplies and service used or required in connection with emergency and non-emergency
transfer service shall be made.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on October l, 1995.
