96-055 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 12-1 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 96-055
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY ON PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING
THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED
BY REVISING SECTION 12-1, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
REORGANIZATION AND EXPANSION OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONrLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1,
1996.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That Section 12-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 12-1. Composition of department.
The fire department of the City shall be composed of the fire chief, fire
marshall-assistant fire chief and forty-six (46) members classified as follows:
(1) One (1) fire trai ning officer.
(2) Three (3) deputy fire chiefs.
(3) Nine (9) fire engineers.
(4) Six (6) fire fighter drivers.
(5) Twenty-seven (27) fire fighters."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on October l, 1996.
