AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING AN OFFICE DISTRICT (O) ON
LOT 8, CITY BLOCK 112, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO SHELLEY FIELD, 50 AS
TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED A5 A TWO
FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIE5 OF THE
OFFICE DISTRICT (O) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
FEBRUARY 1, 1995.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that an
OFFICE DISTRICT (O) be, and the same is hereby, established on LOT 8, CITY BLOCK 112,
on property belonging to SHELLEY FIELD, so as to include in such OFFICE DISTRICT (O)
the hereinafter described property, which was formerly and is presently designated as a TWO
FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F), and that the boundaries of said OFFICE DISTRICT
(O), be, and the same are hereby, established as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, a part of the Larkin Rattan Survey, and being Lot 8,
City Block 112, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the East Boundary Line of 12th Street
S.E. and the North Boundary Line of E. Sherman Street, said point being the
southwest corner of the lot conveyed to S. M. Hearon by W. S. Trigg and wife,
March 22, 1905, recorded in Volume 117, Page 139, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas;
THENCE North with the East Boundary Line of 12th Street S.E. a
distance of 108 feet to a stake, said point being the northwest corner of the S. M.
Hearon lot;
THENCE East with the North Boundary Line of said Hearon lot a distance
of 178 feet, more or less, to the northwest corner of a lot conveyed to Howell
Copeland and wife by Sallie Pemmington, et al by deed recorded in Volume 307,
Page 73, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas;
THENCE South with Copeland's West Boundary Line a distance of 108
feet to a stake, said point being Copeland's southwest corner, and also a point in
the North Boundary Line of East Sherman Street;
THENCE West with the North Boundary Line of said street a distance of
178 feet to the place of beginning, and being number 441 12th Street S.E.
Section 2. That the Director of Community Development of the City of Paris, be, and
he is hereby, directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the
provisions of Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance sha11 be guilty
of a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00,
and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated ordinance shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective February 1, 1995.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 9th day of January,
1995.
