ORDINANCE NO. 95-008
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING
SECTION 7-47 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING THAT THE REFERENCE TO DIRECTOR
OF COMMUNITY DAE PE ~ L Y NOT TO EXCEED $2, 00.00; I REPEALO
PROVIDING FOR ING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 1, 1995.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That Section 7-47 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Faris, Paris,
Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 7-47. Inspection committee created; purpose and composition of
committee.
There is hereby created a building hazard inspection committee to be an agency
and instrumentality of the City to aid and assist the City in the protection of the lives and
property of its citizens under its charter powers. Such committee shall consist of the city
engineer, the chief of the fire department and the chief building official. In the absence
of the city engineer, or at any time he is unable to act, the director of public works may
act in his place. In the absence of the chief of the fire department, or at any time he is
unable to act, the assistant chief of the fire department may act in his place. In the
absence of the chief building official, or at any time he is unable to act, the tax collector
may act in his place. "
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty
of a Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on February 1, 1995.
