94-038 ORD PROVIDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 2-98 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 94-038
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION
2-98 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE INCREASE IN AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1994.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 2-98 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris be amended so that
such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 2-98. Ambulance Service Rates.
(a) The following rates are established for emergency medical vehicle service for residents of Lamar
County:
(1). ADVANCE LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) $185.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
(2). BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) $150.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
3. OUT OF LAMAR COUNTY $185.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
TRANSrER SERVICE of pickup to point of delivery
4. TRANSFER SERVICE $110.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
5. PERSONAL PREFERENCE $250.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
TRANSFER SERVICE of pickup to point of delivery and for
to a point outside City of Paris return to point of origin inside City
beyond a 125 mile radius Limits
6. IN HOUSE TRANSFER $60.00 from hospital to treatment facility
and return to hospital
7. REQUESTED SERVICE not used $30.00
(b) The following rates are established for emergency medical veliicle service for non-residentsof
Lamar County:
1. ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) $185.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
2. BASIC LIFE SUPP4RT (BLS) $150.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County ot pickup to point of delivery
3. OUT ON LAMAR COUNTY $250.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
SERVICE a point outside of pickup to point of delivery and
the City of Paris within return to point of origin inside City
125 mile radius of Paris
4. TRANSFER SERVICE $110.00 plus $3.00 per mile from point
within Lamar County of pickup to point of delivery
5. IN HOUSE TRANSFER $60.00 from hospital to treatment facility
and return to hospital
6. REQUESTED SERVICE not used $30.00
(c) Additional charges. In addition to the established rates a usual, reasonable and customary
charge for medical supplies and service used or required in connection with emergency and non-
emergency transfer service shall be made.
(d) Standby service. There shall be a standby service charge of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for
the first hour and sixty dollars ($60.00) for each additional hour or partial hour on an as available,
first-request, first-serve basis."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on October l, 1994.
