94-044 ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 26-1 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 94-044
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING
THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED
BY REVISING SECTION 26-1, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR EXPANSION
OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONrLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1994.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 26-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 26-1. Composition of department.
The police department of the city shall be composed of the chief of police,
and forty-eight (48) members classified as follows:
(1) One (1) assistant chief.
(2) Two (2) police lieuteilants,.
(3) Ten (10) police sergeants.
(4) Three (3) police corporals„
(5) Thirty-One (31) police privates. "
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on October 1, 1994.
