AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 91-021, PASSED ON
THE 13th DAY OF MAY, 1991, PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF
STRUCTURES OTHERWISE DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 215 EAST HOUSTON
STREET, LOT l, CITY BLOCK 19, BELONGING TO HAYDEN JACKSON AND
MARY JACKSON, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 12,
1993.
WHEREAS, Joe McCollum, Director of Community Develop-
ment, appeared before the City Council at its Regular Meeting
on the 8th day of April, 1993 and requested that the
prospective new owner, Carey Robinson, be given an additional
nine (9) months from the date of purchase to repair and bring
into Code compliance the structure heretofore declared to be
hazardous at 215 East Houston, Lot l, City Block 19, since
the decision to purchase the property depends upon new owner
being given time to make necessary repairs to permit the
structure to be remuved from the hazardous structure 1ist,
and enable the new owner to then pursue phase II of his plans
for this property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it
to be in the best interest of the City of Paris that its
citizen, Carey Robinson, by furnishing a$10,000 performance
bond, be given nine (9) mont:hs to repair and bring into Code
requirements the structure at number 215 East Houston, Lot l,
City Block 19, with an additional six (6) months if
satisfactory progress is being made; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That Section 2. of Ordinance 91-021 be
amended to read as follows:
"Section 2. That the structures hereinafter
enumerated are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared
a nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and
property, and that the same constitute a fire hazard to
life and property, and that the respective owners are
hereby ordered to abate such nuisances on or before the
ates set out in connection with the addresses of each of
such structures, as follows:

High Gym) $10,000 performance bond, is
given 9 months from the
date ofthe deed conveying
said property to him for
repairs and bringing into
code requirements. If not
complete at end of said 9
month period, Director of
Community Development will
review the work done and if
in his opinion said progress
has been made, will grant
Carey Robinson an additional
6 months to complete the
repairs; if Director of
Community Development does
not find that satisfactory
progress has been made, he
shall report the same to the
City Council at its next
regular Thursday meeting.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
confiict herewith are expressly repealed. '
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on
April 12, 1993.
