AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED
IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS,
AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS
REMAININU ON THE PREMISES TU CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE
A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PKOPERTY AIVD A HAZARD TO THE LIFE
AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING
SAID RUBBISH, LUNiBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE
TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES IN ORDER TO ABATE
SUCH NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the
Mayor of the City of Paris, George Fisher, ori the 12th day of
April, 1993, at 6:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Room, City
Hall, in the City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building
Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the
resolutions referred to the Committee by the City Council on
the 25th day of February, 1993, and said Committee fixed said
hearing at 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the 23rd day of March, 1993,
and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was
given to the awner or owners of the structures located at the
following addresses:
401 E. Garrett, Lot 1, Block 4, Washington Heights
333 lst Street N.E., Lot 4, City Block 57
326-338-350 3rd Street N.E., Lot 5, City Block 60
419 8th Street N.E., E.114' Lot 1, City Block 64-A
956 East Tudor, Lot 17, City Block 69

That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures
involved and introduced pictures of the various portions of
the structures and various portions of the premises involved
and a list of discrepancies in the structures located
thereon. That the Committ:ee found that each of the above
structures was in such state of deterioration and
dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and
property and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and
was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures
to life and property. That said buildings are in such a
state of dilapidation and decay that none of said structures
are capable of repair. It is further found that the condi-
tion of the premises and structures involved was such that
the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be
declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by
the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the
lots involved. 'That said Committee filed a complete report
of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the
City of Paris on the 30th day of March, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper
notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures
hereinafter listed. That at: said hearing on the 23rd day of
March, 1993, the Committee listed the structures involved and
introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures
and various portions of the premises involved and a list of
discrepancies in the structures located thereon. That the
Committee found that earh of the hereinafter listed
structures was in such state of deterioration and
dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and
property, and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and
dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures to
life and property. That the owners of the property appeared
before the Committee and requested time to repair the
structures or the Committee found that the structures could
be repaired. That it was the recouunendation of the Committee
that the structures be condemned or repaired and that the
respective owners thereof be given the time to abate said
nuisance by repair or removal as is set out in connection
with each of such addresses, as follows:
1420 Fitzhugh, Lot 17, 120 days to repair

603 8th Street N.E., 30 days to make
Lot 22, City Block 63 repairs or remove

Lot 13, City Block 69-A repairs

1809 East Cherry, 30 days to repair
Lot 4, City Block 227-A or remove
2600 Pine Bluft, 120 days to clean up
Lot 14, City Block 255-A grounds and make
repairs
and it is so stated in the report of the Building Hazard
Inspection Committee filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Paris on the 30th day of March, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered
the testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete
transcript of the testimony reported by the Building Hazard
Inspection Committee; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the structures located at the
following addresses:
401 E. Garrett, Lot 1, Block 4, Washington Heights
333 lst Street N.E., Lot 4, City Block 57
419 8th Street N.E., E.114' Lot l, City Block 64-A
956 East Tudor, Lot 17, City Block 69
504 lOth Street N.E. Lot 13, City Block 69-A
528 llth Street N.E., Lot 3, City Block 70

are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a nuisance, in
that they are dangerous to life and property, and that the
same constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that
the respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such
nuisance within thirty (30) days from the date hereof. That
the structure located at the following address:
326-338-350 3rd Street N.E., Lot 5, City Block 60
is a nuisance, and is hereby declared a nuisance, in that it
is dangerous to life and property, and that the same
constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the
respective owner is hereby ordered to abate such nuisance
within sixty (60) days from the date hereof. The City Clerk
is directed to furnish the owners a copy of this ordinance,
in the event the addresses of said owiiers are known, and in
the event the respective owners refuse to comply with this
ordinance, the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, is hereby
directed to proceed to enforce this ordinance by the
procedure provided for in Article III of Chapter 7 of the
Code of Ordinances of the Ci.ty of Paris.
Section 2. That the structures hereinafter
enumerated are a nuisance, and they are hereby declared a
nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and property,
and that the same constitute a fire hazard to life and
property, and that the respective owners are hereby ordered
to abate such nuisances on or before the dates set out in
connection with the addresses of each of such structures, as
follows:
1420 Fitzhugh, Lot 17, August 10, 1993, to
Block Q, East Park Addn. repair or remove
131 East Price Street, June 11, 1993 to
Pt. Lot 3, City Block 39 make repairs
603 8th Street N.E., May 12, 1993 to make
