ORDINANCE NO. 97-010
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-007, PASSED ON
THE 13TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1997, PERMITTING TIME FOR THE
REPAIR OF A STRUCTURE DECLARED TO BE DILAPIDATED AT 937
FIFTH STREET, SE, LOT 14, BLOCK 2, RUCKER-HOUSE ADDITION,
BELONGING TO ARTHUR JOHNSON AND GRACIE JOHNSON,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1997.
WHEREAS, Steve Methven, Chief Building Official, appeared before the City
Council at its Regular Meeting on the 6th day of February, 1997 and requested that
Gracie Johnson be permitted to repair and bring into Code compliance the structure
heretofore declared to be dilapidated at 937 Fifth Street, SE, Lot 14, Block 2, Rucker-
House Addition, since Gracie Johnson works out of town for long periods of time she
was without notice of the necessity of appearing befare the City Council at its regular
meeting on January 9, 1997 when the ordinance declaring the structure at said address
to be dilapidated and ordering the removal of the same was authorized; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best
interest of the City of Paris that its citizen, Gracie Johnson, be given until March 30,
1997, to repair in accordance with the building codes of the City of Paris the structure
at 937 Fifth Street, SE, Lot 14 Block 2, Rucker-House Addition; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That 937 Fifth Street, SE, Lot 14, Block 2, Rucker-House
Addition, be removetl from the list included in Section 1 of ordinance No. 97-007 and
that it be added to the list that appears in Section 3 of said ordinance with the
following listed thereafter: "March 30, 1997, to repair or demolish and remove."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
expressly repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on March l, 1997.
