ORDINANCE NO. 97-013
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE ALLEY BETWEEN BOOTH STREET AND
TUDOR STREET BEGINNING AT THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF 19TH STREET
N.E., WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 17TH STREET N.E.; DECLARING
NO NECESSITY OR NEED OF SAID ALLEY FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR
DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS, WHICH ARE EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY
THE CITY OF PARIS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFI+ECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 10,
1997.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris
that an alley located between Booth Street and Tudor Street, beginiiing at the West Boundary Line
of 19th Street N.E., West to the East Boundary Line of 17th Street N.E., is of no use as an alley
to the City of Paris or to its citizens, but is of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its
citizens for drainage and utility easement purposes, and the City Council so finds; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the alley located between Booth Street and Tudor Street, beginning at
the West Boundary Line of 19t11 Street N.E., West to the East Boundary Line of 17th Street N.E.,
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, is found to be of no use as an alley to the City of Paris
or its citizens,but is of use and necessary to the C.ity of Paris and its citizens for drainage and
utility easement purposes; therefore, such alley is hereby closed, with the City of Paris retaining
drainage and utility easemeilts.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on March 10, 1997.

CLOSED ALLEY DESCRIPTION
BEGINNING at a point in the West Boundary Line of 19th Street N.E.,
being the Southeast corner of Lot 6-A, City Block No. 227-B;
THENCE South along the North Boundary Line of 19th Street N.E. a
distance of 20 feet to a point for corner, being the Northeast corner of Lot 5, City
Block No. 227-13;
THENCE West along the North Boundary Lines of Lots 5, 4, 3, 2 and 12,
City Block 227-B, a distance of approximately 500 feet to a point in the East
boundary line of 17th Street N.E., being the Northwest corner of Lot 12, City
Block 227-B;
THENCE North along the East Boundary Line of 19th Street N.E., a
distance of 20 feet to a point being the Southwest corner of Lot 11 in said City
Block;
THENCE East along the South Boundary Lines of Lots 11, 9, 8, 7-A, 7 and
6-A in said City Block a distance of approximately 500 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
