ORDINANCE NO. 97-018
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C)
ON LOT 7, CITY BLOCK 135, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO DON WILSON,
CONDITIONED UPON THE APPROVAL ON CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 9,
CITY BLOCK 151, AND LOT 6, CITY BLOCK 135 FROM MULTIPLE-FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) TO PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTION
DISTRICT (PLI), SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY
DESIGNATED AS A MULTIPLE-N'AMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1);
DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES ON' THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO
ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING t'OR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING N'OR AN EN'FECTIVE DATE OF MAY 1, 1997.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that a
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) be, and the same is hereby, established on LOT 7, CITY
BLOCK 135, on property belonging to DON WILSON, CONDITIONED UPON THE
APPROVAL OF CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 9, CITY BLOCK 151, AND LOT 6,
CITY BLOCK 135 FROM MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1) TO
PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTION DISTRICT (PLI), so as to include in such
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) the hereinafter described property, which was formerly and is
presently designated as a MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1(MF-1), and that
the boundaries of said COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C), be, and the same are hereby, established
as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, and being Lot 7, City Block 135, and further described
as follows:
BEGINIVING at a point in the Southwest corner of West Washington Street
on Lot 7, City block 135;
THENCE North a distance of 273 feet to a stake far corner at the
Northwest corner of said tract;
THENCE East a distance of 475 feet to a stake for corner at the Northeast
corner of said tract;
THENCE South a distance of 27:3 feet to a stake for corner at the Southeast
corner of said tract;
THENCE West a distance of 485 feet to the place of beginning, being
iiumber 418 West Washington.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinaiice shall become effective May 1, 1997.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hal1, Paris, Texas, on this the 14th of April, 1997
