ORDINANCE NO. 97-026
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-007, PASSED ON THE 13TH
DAY OF JANUARY, 1997; PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF THE STRUCTURE
OTHERWISE DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 61114TH STREET N.E., BEING LOT 6,
BLOCK 3, HICKS IIRST ADDITION AND BELONGING TO MELANY MCF'ATRIDGE;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JUNE 1, 1997.
WHEREAS, Steve Methven, Chief Building Official of the Ciry of Paris, appeared before
the City Council of the City of Paris at its regular meeting on the 8th day of May, 1997, and
requested that Melany McFatridge be permitted to repair and bring into compliance with the
Building Code of the City of Paris the structure located at 611 14th Street N.E., being Lot 6,
Block 3, Hicks First Addition, and bei»g heretofore declared to be dilapidated, since she
purchased the same without knowiiig that it was condetnned, thus being without notice of the
necessity of appearing before the City Council at its regular meeting on January 13, 1997, when
the ordinance was passed that declared the structure at said address to be dilapidated and ordered
the removal of the same; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the
City of Paris that its citizen, Melany McFatridge, be given ninety (90) days to repair and bring
into compliance with the Building Code of the C'ity of Paris the structure at 611 14th Street N.E.,
being Lot 6, Block 3, Hicks First Addition; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the structure at 611 14th Street N.E., being Lot 6, Block 3, Hicks First
Addition, and being heretofore declared to be dilapidated, be, and the same is hereby, removed
from the list included in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-007 and added to the list included in
Section 2 of said Ordinance, with August 29, 1997, being listed thereafter as the date by which
such structure must be repaired and brought into compliance with the Building Code of the City
of Paris.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on June 1, 1997.
