ORDINANCE NO. 97-027
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-019, PASSED ON THE 14TH
DAY OF APRIL, 1997; PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF THE STRUCTURE
OTHERWISE DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 847 - 71/2 STREET N.E., BEING LOT 13,
BLOCK 1, MARGRAVFS-PHILLIPS-ESTES PLAT 1 ADDITION, AND BELONGING TO
DONALD GRAY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JUNE 1, 1997.
WHEREAS, Steve Methven, Chief Building Official of the City of Paris, appeared before
the City Council of the City of Paris at its special meeting on the 14th day of April, 1997, and
requested that Donald Gray be permitted to repair and bring iilto compliance with the Building
Code of the City of Paris the structure located at 847 - 7 1/2 Street Iv.E., being Lot 13, Block l,
Margraves-Phillips-Estes Plat 1 Addition, and being heretofore declared to be dilapidated, since
he was not properly notified, thus being without iiotice of the necessity of appearing before the
City Council at its regular meeting on April 14, 1997, when the ordinance was passed that
declared the structure at said address to be dilapidated and ordered the removal of tlle same; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of tlle City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the
City of Paris that its citizen, Donald Gray, be given ninety (90) days to repair and bring into
coinpliance with the Building Code of the City of Paris the structure at 847 - 7 1/2 Street N.E.,
being Lot 13, Block l, Margraves-Phillips-Estes Plat 1 Addition; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the structure at 847 - 7 1/2 Street N. E. , bei ng Lot 13, Block 1,
Margraves-Phillips-Estes Plat 1 Addition, and being heretofore declared to be dilapidated, be, and
the same is hereby, removed from the list included in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-007 and
added to the list included in Section 2 of said Ordinance, with August 29, 1997, being listed
thereafter as the date by which such structure must be repaired and brought into compliance with
the Building Code of the City of Paris.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on June 1, 1997.
