<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 97-040 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A <br /> MAXIMUM, REASONABLE, AND PRUDENT RATE OF SPEED IN THE AREA OF <br /> PUBLIC SCHOOLS ON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC PLACES <br /> IN THE CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br /> REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1997. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the following maximum, reasonable, and prudent rates of speed be, and <br /> the same are hereby, established in the area of public schools on those portions of the street <br /> hereinafter described: <br /> <br /> T. G. GIVENS KINDERGARTEN: <br /> On Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, from the west boundary line of 8th <br /> Street N.E. to the east boundary line of 6th Street N.E., a speed limit of twenty <br /> (20) miles per hour will be effective on school days during the following hours: <br /> <br /> 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> AIKEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: <br /> On Pine Mill Road, from the east boundary line of 32nd Street N.E. west <br /> a distance of 1640 feet, a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour; and, <br /> On E. Houston Street, from the east curb line of 31st Street N.E. east to <br /> the west curb line of 32nd Street N.E., a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour; <br /> and, <br /> On Lamar Avenue (BH 82), from the east boundary line of 30th Street <br /> N.E., highway Mile Post 10.345, east to the west boundary line of 32nd Street <br /> N.E., highway Mile Post 10.545, a speed limit of thirty (30) miles per hour, all <br /> of which will be effective on school days during the following hours: <br /> <br /> <br /> 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> THOMAS JUSTISS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: <br /> On 19th Street N.W. (FM Highway 79), from highway Mile Post 22.014 <br /> to highway Mile Post 22.304, a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour will be <br /> effective on school days during the following hours: <br /> <br /> 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> CROCKETT MIDDLE SCHOOL: <br /> On S. Collegiate Drive, from the south curb line of E. Hubbard Street south <br /> to the south curb line of Clark Lane; and, <br /> On Clark Lane, from the east curb line of S. Collegiate Drive east to the <br /> east curb line of Johnson Woods Drive, a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour <br /> will be effective on school days during the following hours: <br /> <br /> 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br /> 3:20 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. <br />
